
With a £168 million order from Southeastern Rail for 28 train units, it was vital for Hitachi to prove that their design was correct.
A model was commissioned, allowing all the aspects of the design to be evaluated, reducing any downstream design changes and saving time and cost.
The driving car model was a 16 week program from CAD release to model signoff, and consisted of a full interior and exterior car with 32 seats.
